Fed Beige Book: On Wednesday, the US Federal Reserve will release its third Beige Book of 2014 – the report that summarizes “information on current economic conditions” by district and sector.

Yellen speeches: This week, Fed Chairman Janet Yellen will giving a speech to the Financial Markets Conference in Georgia, and a speech on monetary policy in New York. After hints last week of an interest rate rise, analysts will be watching her language closely.

EU consumer prices: Eurozone consumer prices for March will be published on Wednesday. Analysts initially released an estimate of 0.5%, further signalling deflation.

UK inflation: Tuesday will bring the latest UK inflation figures for March. Economists expect a fall in consumer price rises from 1.7% to 1.5%, the lowest since 2009.
