Each week QFINANCE.com brings you five things to look out for in the week ahead (28-04-2014). Essential news that will shape the week and help you keep ahead in the world of business and finance.

Eurozone inflation update: Economists in the eurozone will be keeping an eye out for April inflation rates released on Wednesday, following March’s four-year low of 0.5%. New figures will confirm whether March’s data was anomalous or indicative of more fundamental issues, with analysts estimating an optimistic 0.8%.

ONS to announce UK growth: On Tuesday, the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) is expected to confirm GDP growth for the first quarter of this year at 0.9%, exceeding growth from the previous quarter at 0.7%. This will mean the fifth consecutive quarterly growth for the UK economy.

US Fed policy decisions: Wednesday will bring the latest policy decisions from the US Federal Reserve. Amidst steadily improving data, analysts are predicting rates to remain on hold, with small reductions to the monthly bond buying program.

Rates decision from Japan: Attention will also focus on the Bank of Japan on Wednesday, as they announce their latest rates decision and semi-annual outlook, containing updated growth and inflation forecasts for 2014-16. No significant changes are expected.

African central bank announcements: Africa will see further central bank decisions on Monday, with announcements due from Angola, Mauritius and Egypt. Rates for Egypt were postponed from last Thursday due to a public holiday, but are expected to remain unchanged.
