Each week brings you five things to look out for in the week ahead (16-06-2014). Essential news that will shape the week and help you keep ahead in the world of business and finance.

Eurozone inflation data: Eurozone inflation data will be released on Monday, with analysts expecting the bloc’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) to have fallen by 0.1% from April to May.

Bank of England meeting minutes: The Bank of England will publish minutes of its latest interest rate meeting, in which Bank Governor Mark Carney hinted that the first rise “could happen sooner than markets currently expect”.

Asian central bank announcements: Policy decisions are expected from Asian central banks this week, with announcements due from the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Bank of Japan, the Bank of Thailand and Philippine central bank.

US policy decisions: All eyes will be on the US Federal Reserve on Wednesday, though economists expect rates to remain the same, and stimulus tapering to continue.

Visions of united Eurasia: South Korean president Park Geun-hye will visit Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan this week as part of continued efforts to promote strong economic cooperation of Central Asian nations.
