Avinash Persaud

Avinash Persaud is an emeritus professor of Gresham College in the City of London, chairman of Intelligence Capital, a financial advisor to governments and large institutions, and chairman of Elara Capital, a London-based specialist in emerging markets. He was previously a senior executive at State Street Bank, JPMorgan, and UBS. He has been a member of the UN Commission on Financial Reforms (2008), chairman of the second Warwick Commission (2009), and expert member of the UK Treasury’s Audit and Risk Assurance Committee (2009–2012). He has won a number of prizes and awards in finance, including first prize, Jacques de Larosière award, from the Institute of International Finance. Prospect magazine has voted him one of the top public intellectuals on the financial crisis.
