Jeremy Beckwith joined Kleinwort Benson in April 2003 as chief investment officer and is responsible for all aspects of the investment process and investment performance of discretionary portfolios. He introduced multi-asset class investing to Kleinwort Benson and is regularly invited on to Bloomberg TV to give his views on markets and economics. Prior to this, he was a managing director and head of EAFE Equities (non-US equities for American retail and institutional clients) at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers. Before joining the EAFE team in 1988 he was managing director of Merrill Lynch Global Asset Management, managing the portfolios of high net worth private clients and small institutions from Europe and the Middle East, and also chaired the Global Investment Committee. Prior to 1990 he was head of equities for Mitsubishi Finance International and a portfolio manager for Manufacturers Life Insurance Company. From 2006 to 2008 he was chairman of the FTSE Private Banking Index Advisory Board, and was named on the Citywealth Private Banking Leaders List for 2008.
