Simon Derrick is chief currency strategist at BNY Mellon. He established the currency strategy team over a decade ago and has been responsible for its development into one of the preeminent voices in the foreign exchange markets. His views on Chinese currency policy matters and developments within the Eurozone are frequently quoted in the media. Prior to heading up BNY Mellon’s currency strategy team, he ran BNY Mellon’s European foreign exchange sales team for four years. Previously he worked in sales and proprietary trading roles at Midland Bank (now HSBC), Banque Indosuez (now Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank), and Citibank.
