Sir Adrian Cadbury studied economics at Cambridge before joining the Cadbury business in 1952. He became chairman of Cadbury Ltd in 1965 and retired as chairman of Cadbury Schweppes in 1989. He was chairman of the UK Committee on the Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance, which published its Report and Code of Best Practice in December 1992. Sir Adrian received the International Corporate Governance Network Award in 2001. His book, Corporate Governance and Chairmanship—A Personal View, was published by Oxford University Press in 2002 and has been translated into Japanese, Chinese, and Italian. In 2005 he was awarded the Laureate Medal for Corporate Governance.
