Zarin Patel is the first Chief Financial Officer of the BBC, a position she has held since 2004. As a member of the BBC’s executive board, Patel is responsible for financial strategy, planning, control, as well as procurement and TV licensing. Before joining the BBC in 1998, she had previously spent 15 years with one of the “big four” accountants, KMPG. She graduated in economics at the London School of Economics in 1982. Named as one of the most powerful people in the British media by the Guardian in 2007, Patel recently graduated from Harvard Business School. She is also a governor for the University of the Arts, London.
