contactless card


card with chip read by radio signals a smart card in which the microprocessor chip is not visible and is accessed by the reading device by radio signals rather than by physical contact. An increasingly common use of this technology is in such applications as toll collection, where the card is accessed as the motorist displays it to the reading device in passing.
