low market tendency on Mondays the theory that stocks tend to perform better on Fridays than on Mondays. Some analysts say this is the result of companies waiting until the close of trading on Friday to release bad news. Others attribute it to Mondays' auctions of US Treasury securities, and others say there is no weekend effect.
